We weren't sure for a while there if we had aptly named Serenity because she was the only stereotypically loud Nubian in our herd! We are pleased to tell you that as she is maturing, she is also mellowing out and no longer bellows at the slightest provocation.
Despite her noisy beginnings, Serenity is amazingly sweet and very pleasant to handle.
Linebred on our all-time favourite Black Mesa Ranch -- SG Black Mesa Tally's Reese-- she has a lot of powerhouse genetics behind her. Like all of Abraham's daughters, her rear udder is fantastic and her production is notable.
We sure love this girl to bits and are really hoping she gives us a daughter one of these days...
Update 5/2025: We have always loved our Serenity. As a 5 year old, she has really come into herself with her conformation maturing beautifully. She has always been one of our top producers and we have hoped for 5 years for a daughter from her. Well, this year she has outdone herself! After kidding with triplets, she has peaked at 14lbs/day, milking out so easily out of that gorgeous mammary. The best part? She gave us TWO beautiful daughters to keep and her buckling is going to some good friends in New Mexico. In addition to all this, she scored 88 VEGE on appraisal this year! We truly couldn't be happier!
