Song's dam, Black Mesa Liberty Rose, came to us as a foundation doe early on in our goating adventures. Song was Liberty's first daughter at our farm and, like her mother, Song is easily one of the sweetest does we have ever known. She is gentle and kindhearted and is a favourite with our whole family.
But her personality isn't the only reason she is a permanent member of our herd -- she is also a beauty!
Song has lovely general appearance and oozes dairy character. She milks easily out of her beautiful, well attached udder and her production typically peaks around 9lbs/day.
Update Summer 2025: She did it! We have always known Song was a beauty. And as she has aged, she has held up very nicely. Our appraiser agreed! He was very impressed with how Song is still carrying herself as an aged doe, even though she was late in her lactation and definitely not in full bloom for our appraisal. We were thrilled when he said she was very deserving of the final score 90 EVEV!!! Way to go, Song!
