Joy is the offspring of two of our most influential goats -- Peace and Abraham, which means she heavily linebred on our very favorite Black Mesa Ranch doe of all time: Black Mesa Tally's Reese. We were so excited about that pairing that we kept both Joy and her littermate brother, Tribute.
Shy and slow to mature, sweet Joy has kept out of the spotlight, but we have a feeling that is all about to change!
Update March 2025: Joy is bred to MILK and it looks like she is going to do just that! She kidded in January with a single doeling and went to work straight away. Her udder is phenomenal. She has that high, beautiful rear udder that her sire always threw and peaked at just over 8lbs/day -- not too bad for a first freshener with a single kid!
In addition to all that, after Joy's doeling was sold, she adopted two bottle babies and nursed them like her own kids.
We are so glad to have this girl in our herd!
